43. Myrmica basalis HNS . B.M.
Worker. Length 1 1/3 line.-Pale testaceous, with the club of the antennae and the abdomen, except its base, dark fuscous, and very smooth and shining; the head ovate, slightly emarginate behind; eyes small, placed forward on the sides of the head; the metathorax obliquely truncate, smooth and without spines. Abdomen ovate, truncate at the base.
