( Figure 12 View FIGURE 12 )

1984. Gordionus ondulatus Miralles 283-284.

Holotype: 1 male, Sauce Chico stream, Tornquist, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Host: Unknown.

Description. The specimen is 87 mm long and about 1 mm in diameter. Body color is yellow brown. Anterior tip is white, followed by a dark collar. Posterior end is rounded. The cuticle shows areoles of one type arranged in rows ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 ). Areoles are either quadrangular or rectangular in shape. From the lateral areolar rims, finger-like structures elongate. Interareolar spaces are wide, and with scarce round bristles.

Distribution: Argentina: Buenos Aires province, Tornquist, Sauce Chico stream (2 males and 3 females, Miralles 1984), Sierra de la Ventana, El Loro stream (7 females, De Villalobos & Voglino 2000). Ecuador: Chimborazo province, Shulala (2º 1´58´´ S – 78º 44´51´´ W) (1 female I. Tapia and G. Onore col. 31/12/2001 [QCAZI 10010] new record).

Comments. At present Gordionus ondulatus has only been described from Argentina (see Miralles 1984; De Villalobos & Voglino 2000). This new finding largely extends northward its geographical distribution in South America.
