Lectotype (Radcliffe-Smith in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Euphorbiaceae : 354. 1987): [icon] “ Manihot folio tenuiter diviso ” in Dillenius, Hort. Eltham. 2: 217, t. 173, f. 213. 1732.

Current name: Jatropha multifida L. ( Euphorbiaceae ).

Note: Fawcett & Rendle (Fl. Jamaica 4: 313. 1920) indicated 1141.9 (LINN) as type but this collection was received by Linnaeus from Browne only in 1758, so it cannot be original material for the name.
