Mezira angolensis Hoberlandt, 1967
Mezira angolensis Hoberlandt, 1967b: 140–142 , Fig. 10 (original description), 147 (key).
Three paratypes are deposited in NMPC:
PARATYPES (3 JJ): ‘Luachimo 13.VI.49 [hw] / Dundo, Angola / A B Machado lgt. [p] // Ang. No. [p] 1513.2 [hw] / Coll A.B.Machado [p] // Paratypus [p] J / Mezira / angolensis, n. sp. [hw] / Det. L. Hoberlandt, 19[p]65 [hw, red label]’.
Current status. Valid species: Brachyrhynchus angolensis (Hoberlandt, 1967) (see KORMILEV & FROESCHNER 1987).
Remarks. According to the original description the species was based on the male holotype only; no paratypes were mentioned (cf. HOBERLANDT 1967b). The J holotype was originally cited as deposited in Museum Dundo, Lunda, Angola. Obviously it is not present in NMPC, but it is uncertain it was really returned to Angola.
