Distribution: E Brazil: Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espiritu Santo.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix I as included in B. arachnoides ; U.S. ESA – Endangered as included in B. arachnoides ; IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Discussion: Separated from B. arachnoides by Rylands et al. (1995).
