Described from Japan on several kinds of plants belonging to different plant families, but mainly Laureaceae ( Masumoto & Okajima 2007), this species of Thripinae is here recorded from India for the first time based on the following specimens: Karnataka, Kemmanagundi, 6 females, collected on leaves of unidentified weed, 04.ii.2021, Rachana R.R .
Diagnosis: Body greyish yellow ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13–18 ), abdominal tergites III–VII slightly shaded laterally, III–VIII with medially dark antecostal ridge. One pair of postocular setae mesad of compound eyes subequal to ocellar setae III ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13–18 ). Posteromarginal setae II setae 1.5–2.0 times as long as posteromarginal setae I ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 13–18 ). Metascutum with median longitudinal oblong reticulations; median pair of setae situated near to anterior margin ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 13–18 ). Metathoracic furca recurved to each side at apex ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 19–22 ). Abdominal tergites III–V with S1 setae close together than their length, lateral microtrichial fields each with three setae ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19–22 ); tergite VIII with microtrichia anteromedially ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 19–22 ); tergites IX and X with microtrichial rows medially ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 19–22 ); abdominal sternites with discal microtrichial rows lateral to S1 setae.
