Diagnosis. Small specimens (<2 mm) with reduced hair coat. Wing petiolate, held horizontally over the body, apex round; R 4+5 fused to a single vein; Sc terminating perpendicular to C; perpendicular part of Sc and scr crossvein approximately of equal length; Rs at base perpendicular to R 1, bending at about right angle basal to sc-r, CuA short, often not reaching wing margin. Terminalia not inverted with strongly augmented goncoxal lobes bearing a long apical seta, gonostylus with an apical strongly sclerotized stiff bristle, almost as long as the gonostylus.
