Diagnosis. The combination of a triangular and reflexed clypeus, mandibles without lateral teeth, and pronotum with a deep, longitudinal fovea easily distinguishes Oxyligyrus species from any other genera of Pentodontini .
Distribution. Oxyligyrus currently includes 10 Neotropical species, of which only two occur in Colombia.
