The limit of this genus is currently under redefinition, especially for distinguishing it from Neochalcis Kieffer and Hockeria Walker (Delvare 2017) . The species described in Hockeria that exhibit an additional outer carina on the metatibia, completely dark setation, and a long postmarginal vein on the fore wing may actually belong to Euchalcis . Euchalcis is a small genus mainly distributed in the West Palaearctic region (Noyes 2017).
