Gelanes belokobylskii Khalaim, 2002: 4 . Type: ♀, Russia, TD: ZISP.

Diagnosis. This is a most distinct species which is immediately recognized by the large body (much longer than in any other species) and densely granulate head. Body length 4.8–6.4 mm, fore wing length 4.5–5.1 mm ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ). Head, in dorsal view, weakly narrowed behind eyes, temple 0.9 times as long as eye width ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 21 – 26 ). Temple densely granulate, dull, without or with very indistinct punctures. Malar space about 0.7 times as long as basal width of mandible. Flagellum with 21–23 flagellomeres. Mesosoma predominantly finely granulate, dull. Foveate groove of mesopleuron short and oblique. Basal area narrow, about half as long as apical area. First tergite smooth laterally before glymma. Thyridial depression strongly transverse. Ovipositor with narrow dorsal subapical notch, sheath about 3.5 times as long as first tergite.

Material examined. South Korea: 1♀, [GG] Seongnam-si Sujeong-gu Sangjeok-dong Mt.Cheonggyesan, 37º25’9"N 127º2’49"E, 25.IV.1984, J.W. Lee.

Distribution. South Korea (new record), Russia (Primorskiy reg.). Biology. Flight period in April. Host unknown.
