Notes. Although this is the first record from Peru, this species probably occurs throughout the Neotropics. There is a Los Amigos Biological Station male and two other males from Madre de Dios, Tambopata, Pakitza Biological Station, Castanal Trail, Reserved Zone, Manú National Park −11.9447°, −71.2833°, 317 m, FIT, 15–16 Oct. 2000, Robert Brooks (SEMC); Junín, 15 km NW from Satipo, Rio Venado village environs, 1300 m, window trap, −11.2811°, −74.7686°, 3.X.2015, A. Petrov (1 male, AVPC). Platypus frontalis Blandford , subsequently placed in Costaroplatus , is the female of P. obtusus ( Kirkendall 2017) , so country records for P. frontalis are included in Table 1.
