34. Cnidoscolus guatimalensis Fern.Casas, Fontqueria View in CoL 55: 330 (2006). Type:— GUATEMALA. Petén: Entlang der Strassen von Flores in Richtung: San Miguel, Tikal, Ciudad Melchor de Mencos, San Luis, Santa Amelia (S San Francisco), laguna Petexbatún (S Sayaché) Los Cruces und Naranjo (NW La Libertad), February–March 1990, H. Kurz & R.O. Frisch 316 (holotype W-19920016949!).

Distribution:— Guatemala (microendemic).

Notes:— This species was placed by Fernández Casas (2006d) in sect. Jussieuia , but he did not compare it with any other species of the genus except C. souzae with which he merely stated that it shared similar petiolar glands. He gave no other similarities or differences. Cnidoscolus souzae is a member of sect. Calyptrosolen, and the placement of C. guatimalensis in sect. Jussieuia is questionable. More study is needed to determine the relationship between these two species.
