Neamblysomus julianae Meester 1972 View in CoL
Neamblysomus julianae Meester 1972 View in CoL , Ann. Transvaal Mus., 28 (4): 35.
Type Locality: South Africa, Gauteng, Pretoria, The Willows.
Vernacular Names: Juliana's Golden Mole.
Distribution: Pretoria (Gauteng), Nylstroom (Limpopo Prov.) and Kruger Nat. Park (Mpumalanga, South Africa).
Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered as Amblysomus julianae .
Discussion: Consistent dental and fur differences between the western (Pretoria and Nylstroom) and eastern (Kruger Nat. Park) populations allude to distinct subspecies (Meester, 1972; Bronner 1990), but study of more specimens is needed to confirm this.
