Type Locality: Brazil, Pará, West bank of Rio Tapajós, Parque Nacional de Amazônia.
Vernacular Names: Rio Tapajos Saki.
Synonyms: Pithecia vanzolinii Hershkovitz 1987 .
Distribution: South of the Amazon in SW Brazil; SW Peru; E Bolivia.
Conservation: CITES – Appendix II; IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Includes some specimens identified by Hershkovitz (1979) as P. hirsuta . May prove to be a subspecies of P. monachus ( Hershkovitz, 1987 d) .
