Genus Rhabdostyla View in CoL View at ENA Kent, 1881
Rhabdostyla congregata Zacharias, 1903 View in CoL
Report as epibiont on rotifers: This species was found as epibiont on Polyarthra sp. , Keratella quadrata , Keratella cochlearis , and Brachionus calyciflorus from a pond in Germany ( Zacharias 1903; Schödel 2018).
Remarks: The species was also rarely found on the cladoceran Bosmina longirostris from the same locality ( Zacharias 1903). It is Schödel’s (2018) opinion that the species is possibly identical to Epistylis pygmaeum .
Rhabdostyla sp. (in Regali-Seleghim & Godinho 2004)
Report as epibiont on rotifers: The species was found on rotifers Filinia longiseta , Polyarthra sp. , Keratella sp. and Brachionus sp. ( Regali-Seleghim & Godinho 2004).
Remarks: Among the infested rotifers, F.longiseta was the most frequently infested one, followed by Polyarthra sp. , Brachionus sp. and Keratella sp. ( Regali-Seleghim & Godinho 2004). This species was also found on other groups of hosts—cladocerans and copepods ( Regali-Seleghim & Godinho 2004).
