Length: female holotype 10.20 mm.; male unknown.
External morphology. General color fuscous with numerous yellow spots on veins of forewings; head tannish, pronotum black with numerous yellow bullae on surface; mesonotum black. Head narrower than pronotum; crown broad, lateral margins convergent basally, width about equal to width of eye; eyes elongate ovoid, pronotum large, median length longer than median length of crown, surface bullated; mesonotum large, nearly twice length of pronotum; forewing long, narrow, venation typical; clypeus long, broad, lateral margins convex, clypeus short, about 1/3 as long as clypeus, apex flared. Distribution. Oriental region, Assam.
Material examined: [ Type specimen, holotype female] Type / Jassus atkinsoni Dist. /Marg./ Assam .
Remarks. The type specimen was compared with females of several species in the genera Taharana , Calodia and Olidiana in the India / Myanmar region. The species is placed provisionally in the genus Olidiana until properly associated male and female specimens prove otherwise. Characters separating the genera are based on the male genitalia at the present time. Validity of atkinsoni and its relationship to other species in the genus remains problematical.
