Length: female holotype 7.00 mm.; male unknown.
External morphology. General color testaceous to fuscus, with two irregular transverse bands on forewings, veins with small yellow spots.Head narrower than pronontum, anterior margin broadly rounded; crown broad, about as wide as width of eye; eyes large, semiglobular; pronotum slightly longer than median length of crown, surface bullated; mesonotum long, slightly longer than median length of pronotum; forewings long, broad, venation typical; clypeus long, broad with faint median longitudinal carina; clypellus short, lateral margins flared apically; seventh sternum twice as long as penultimate segment, posterior margin produced medially.
Distribution. Brazil
Material examined. [ Type specimen, Holotype female] Type / Brazil, next line not decipherable / 29. Bythoscopus gutttatus .
Remarks. The general habitus features of the type specimen resemble most closely generic characters of the genus Docalidia than to any other known genera in the tribe Teruliini . These features include the following; robust appearance, short crown, anterior margin of head rounded, and broad forewings The senior author has placed this species provisionally in that genus until additional material of associated male and female specimens prove otherwise. The taxonomic status of the species remains problematical.
