Notes. These specimens are similar to Didymium decipiens Meyl. , with the capillitium tubules twisted like a spiral. However, the spore ornamentation consists of unevenly distributed warts with a paler area. In comparison, the original description of the species reported prominent warts connected by fine lines lacking a paler area. Poulain et al. (2011) referred to the taxon Didymium pseudodecipiens ad int., with the capillitium tubules also bearing spirals but with the spores ornamented with thick spinules.
