6. Sorolopha dactyloidea View in CoL sp. n.
( Figs. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 , 6 View FIGURES 5 – 8 )
Types. Holotype: 3, Mengla (21°29' N, 101°33' E), Yunnan Province, 650 m, 23-VIII-2005, leg. Yingdang Ren, genitalia slide no. YHL05154.
Diagnosis. Externally this new species is similar to Eudemopsis heteroclita Liu & Bai, 1982 . It can be distinguished by the fuscous forewing with two yellowish rounded spots mottled with ochreous. It can be separated easily from other species of the genus by the valva with a fingerlike costal prominence near the base and the aedeagus with a deep indentation in the distal half.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ). Head: Yellowish brown, roughly scaled. Antenna fuscous. Labial palpus ascending, yellowish brown, terminal segment pale fuscous apically.
Thorax: Deep fuscous, with distinct blackish fuscous posterior crest. Foreleg yellowish brown, tarsi fuscous with yellowish brown rings at apex of each subsegment; median leg with femur pale yellowish brown, tibia fuscous, with thornlike scales, tarsi fuscous, with pale yellowish brown rings at apex of each subsegment; posterior leg pale fuscous, tibia normal, not broadened, lacking hair pencils. Forewing length 7.0 mm. Upperside fuscous, fascia blackish fuscous; costa with nine pairs of strigulae from base to R4; strigulae one and two pale fuscous, set before 1/6 length of costa, striae from them extending to base of dorsum; strigulae three and four pale fuscous, at 1/3 length of costa, striae from them extending to base of CuA2; strigulae five and six yellowish white, before and behind the point where Sc meets costa separately, striae from them broken, confused at 1/3 length of M1 and extending to termen between CuA1 and tornus, with yellowish brown margins; strigula seven yellowish white; strigulae eight and nine narrow, pale fuscous, striae from them and strigula seven confused at 2/3 length of R5, and then separated, extending to termen between R5 and M1 and between M1 and M2 respectively, with yellowish brown margins; basal patch indistinct; subbasal patch narrow, reaching 1/3 length of lower edge of cell; median fascia narrow on costa, broadened gradually to lower edge of cell, extending to dorsum, four times as broad on dorsum as on costa, pale fuscous suffused with yellow brown between lower edge of cell and dorsum, proximal edge straight, distal margin oblique between costa and 1/5 length of M1 and almost straight from 1/5 length of M1 to dorsum before tornus; postmedian fascia extending obliquely from mid length of R4 to termen between M2 and CuA2, proximal margin protruding medially; preterminal fascia small; terminal fascia a small dot; a big rounded spot on costa between strigulae five and seven, yellowish brown suffused with ochreous, lower margin reaching base of M2; a relatively smaller spot below lower edge of cell on dorsum between 1/4-1/2 length, yellowish brown suffused with ochreous, its outer margin indistinguishable; cilia blackish fuscous; underside fuscous except yellowish brown costal strigulae and paler area overlapped by hindwing. Hindwing upperside dark fuscous except pale grey area overlapped by forewing; cilia pale grey; underside concolorous with forewing underside.
Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ) with tegumen high and narrow. Uncus blunt. Socius very long, narrow, apex slightly dilated with sparse spines. Gnathos a simple membranous band. Valva slender, with a narrow fingerlike prominence on costa near base, bearing 2-3 short thorns apically; sacculus narrow, without angular prominence, with a spine cluster on 3/4 length, extending to base of cucullus; cucullus gradually narrowed to apex, with a rounded basal prominence, densely setose apically. Aedeagus slightly curved, with a large rectangular indentation in distal half. Female genitalia unknown.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin dactyloideus (= fingerlike) in reference to the shape of the costal prominence on the valva.
