Yellow-footed tortoise, Morrocoy montañero, Wayamo

We did not observe this species, but Ye’kwanas told us of its presence in the lowland rainforest around Sarisariñama. It is a very important food source for some tribes in the Venezuelan Amazon, as was pointed out by Barrio-Amorós (1998 b) and Barrio-Amorós and Narbaiza (2008).
