Habitat: —Terrestrial in gallery forest and dry forest, elev. 1300–1600 m.
Distribution in Rwanda:—Eastern Province: Akagera NP, Mt. Mutumba, Mugesera.
General distribution: —Africa: Uganda, Kenya to Rep. South Africa, Swaziland, Comoros, Mascarenes, Madagascar. Also in Yemen (extinct?, see Viane 2021: 191).
