status

Aphanocapsa sp. ( Fig.7E View FIGURE 7 ).

Colonies round to irregular, 12.93–64.74 µm diam, without sub-colonies. Sheath firm, thin, conspicuous, non-lamellate, hyaline. Cells densely to sparsely disposed, round, 2.27–3.94 µm diam. Without individual envelopes. Cell content granulated, blue-green to pale purple.

Habitat: —Tree bark associate to Chlorogloea sp.2 and Chondrocystis sp.

Notes: —The corticolous habitat, cell dimensions, cell content, color and arrangement are diacritical features that distinguish this morphotype from other Aphanocapsa species.

Trichocoleus cf. acutissimus (Gardner) Anagnostidis (2001: 369) ( Fig. 7F–G View FIGURE 7 ).

Basonym: Microcoleus acutissimus Gardner (1927:55) .

Filaments solitary. Sheath firm, thin, conspicuous, non-lamellate, open at ends, hyaline. Trichomes solitary or numerous (≥15), attenuated, unbranched, slightly constricted, parallel arranged. Cells cylindrical, 2.7–3.65 µm wide, 6.21–8.86 (9.55) µm long, ratio l/w = 2.55. Apical cell acute-conical, without thickening or calyptra. Cell content granulated, pale blue-green, with distinct chromatoplasma. Without necridia.

Habitat: — soil associate to Stigonema minutum and Gloeocapsopsis dvorakii .
