This species can be distinguished from the other species of Brounea by the following combination of characters: eye large, one-half length of temple ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b); male head swollen ventrally ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 m); antennomeres 4–5 longer than wide, 6–10 subquadrate; median lobe as long as paramere, one-half width of parameres ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 b).
Redescription. Length 1.7–2.0 mm. Body brown, elytra, legs, antenna and maxillary palpi paler ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b). Head. Male head blunt triangular, widest across temples ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b), swollen ventrally ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 m). Female head unmodified. Antennomeres 1–2 elongate, 3 subquadrate, 4–5 longer than wide, 6–10 subquadrate. Frontal sulcus deep, reaching to mid-point of eye from apex of rostrum ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Anterior frontal fovea small and round. Posterior frontal fovea elongate. Eye large and prominent, one-half length of temple ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 b). Thorax. Prosternum as long as wide, widest at one-third length. Elytra rectangular ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 b). Hind wings of both sexes well-developed.
