Other materials examined. 3♀, China, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Laibin City , Jinxiu County, Daoyaoshan , VI–VII.2021, leg. Qi-Ming Wang ( GHR) . 1♀ (nymph), China, Guizhou Province, Zunyi City , Xishui County, 25.V.2022, by Qian-Le Lu ( GHR) .

Remark. Chen & He (2000, 2008) described the female of A. guangxiense with a pair of long spines between the compound eyes, but in the latest table key provided by Xie et al. (2022), A. guangxiense is distinguished from A. gulinqingensis by the absence of two spines between the compound eyes, which is contradictory to the previous description. The female specimens of A. guangxiense in our collections are re-examined, and a pair of long spines between the compound eyes were present. Therefore, the two species can be easily distinguished by the number of spines on the abdominal tergites II–V: A. guangxiense each with 4 spines and A. gulinqinensis each with 5 spines.

Both the holotype and paratype of A. guangxiense were probably still nymphs and were badly damaged. In the key made by Xie et al. (2022), the body length was used to distinguish their species. Obviously this feature shuold not be used as these are not representative of the adult insects. Based on our adult specimens, new female body measurements range was provided as well.

The location of the type as stated in the Phasmida Species File ( Brock et al. 2022) is incorrect. The holotype of this species is deposited at Beijing Forestry University , China (BJFU).
