Catasticta semiramis ( Lucas, 1852) was described from Venezuela as ssp. costarum Bollino & Lamas 2004. The species occurs from 2700 to 3200 m, on both the Colombian and Venezuelan sides of El Tamá (Táchira). Individuals are highly localized, though not rare.
