20 Catasticta uricoecheae View in CoL (C. & R. Felder, 1861) (TL: Colombia, Muzo)
(fig. 11: g-i; fig. 31)
Catasticta uricoecheae View in CoL was reported for the first time from Venezuela by Wojtusiak & Rey (1999), when they described the subspecies inopa from Páramo El Tamá View in CoL , Táchira. This subspecies is confined to a narrow altitudinal range, 2800 to 3100 m., but it is not rare. It is sympatric and synchronic with Catasticta tricolor View in CoL , but the latter is much rarer. The same uricoecheae View in CoL subspecies is present also in the Colombian side of El Tamá ( Bollino & Rodríguez, 2004). We illustrate the female of this subspecies for the first time (plate 7: fig. i).
Catasticta uricoecheae View in CoL can be separated from C. tricolor View in CoL by its DFW whitish-grey discal markings. The corresponding markings in C. tricolor View in CoL are yellowish green.
