Ecological group: epigeic ( Butt & Lowe 2011).
Habitat: areas with very high organic matter content. This material may be formed naturally from leaf litter or manure piles ( Butt & Lowe 2011).
Zoogeographical distribution type: peregrine (Csuzdi et al. 2011).
Distribution in Bulgaria: occurs in compost or dung hips in whole country ( Mihailova 1966). In garden soils it can survive for a while but surely not in native forests.
