Habitat: hygrophylous and found in caves or near to streams ( Zicsi & Csuzdi 1986).
Zoogeographical distribution type: endemic species for Bulgaria ( Mršiċ 1991).
Distribution in Bulgaria: Rila Mountain ( Zicsi & Csuzdi 1986). Helodrilus duhlinskae is known only from the type locality, so Stojanoviċ and Karaman (2003) included this species in category suspect for Critically Endangered according to IUCN (2001) red list.
