Types examined: Lectotype ♂ (designated by Lehtinen) from GUYANA: Webecari Mission , 6°31'N, 58°19'W, 3 April 1936, leg. Romiti ( MZUF 540 View Materials ), and paralectotype 1♂ from GUYANA: Port Diamond, ca. 6°20.320′N, 58°38.134′W ( MZUF 541 View Materials ). GoogleMaps
Comments. This species is known only from the original description. Berdondini & Whitman (2003) cite a notice by Koch (1993: nota autographa), that the specimens may belong to M. paucispinosus Mello-Leitão, 1929 — a species described from Rio de Janeiro and known solely from the female holotype. It remains unclear who was P.L. Koch. I was unable to locate any publications by Koch dealing with spiders.
