Gulf of Aqaba: Jordan ( Khalaf & Disi 1997).

Red Sea main basin: Egypt ( Klunzinger 1871, as Histiophorus gladius ), Saudi Arabia (Rüppell 1836, as Histiophorus immaculatus ).

General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas.
