Myosorex rumpii Heim de Balsac 1968 View in CoL
Myosorex rumpii Heim de Balsac 1968 View in CoL , Bonn. Zool. Beitr., Vol. 19: 20.
Type Locality: Cameroon, "Rumpi-Hills, 1100 mètres".
Vernacular Names: Rumpi Mouse Shrew.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Discussion: The holotype and only known specimen is so unique ( Heim de Balsac, 1968 b, fig. 4) that it is considered to represent a valid species. Heim de Balsac (1968 b) himself was uncertain about the status of this taxon; while he formally named it M. eisentrauti rumpii , he labeled all figures and the map with " Myosorex rumpii ".
