Type Locality: "Prom. B. Spei" (Cape of Good Hope); restricted to South Africa, south-eastern Cape Prov. [eastern part of Western Cape Prov.] by Grubb (1999:36).

Vernacular Names: Greater Kudu.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (cd).
