Freshwater Longtom

Strongylura krefftii is the sole freshwater member of the Belonidae found within the Kimberley. It has been collected only from the Fitzroy, Carson and Ord River systems ( Fig. 14), but is probably more widespread. The species does not appear to be particularly abundant in Kimberley waters, and is rarely captured using gill nets or small seines.
