Hephaestus jenkinsi View in CoL is widespread throughout the Kimberley, where it has been reported from most rivers, including the Fitzroy, May, Charnley, Calder, Prince Regent, Mitchell, Lawley, King Edward, Carson, Drysdale, Berkeley and Ord ( Fig. 30). It is also found in the upper Roe River and is likely more widespread (Morgan unpublished data). Some individuals from the King Edward and Carson Rivers have been reported to possess ‘blubber-lips’ ( Vari 1978, Morgan et al. 2006, Morgan in press).
