Hypseleotris regalis Hoese and Allen View in CoL

Prince Regent Gudgeon

Hypseleotris regalis View in CoL is another endemic gudgeon that is extremely restricted in distribution ( Fig. 44). This species is known only from the collections by Allen (1975) in Youwanjela Creek in the Prince Regent River and in Wyulda Creek in the upper Roe River ( Hoese & Allen 1983). There are slight differences in fin ray, scale and gill-raker counts between these two populations ( Hoese & Allen 1983).
