Syncomistes kimberleyensis View in CoL is one of the Kimberley’s least known freshwater fish species. It is known only from the holotype and two paratypes collected in 1969 from Bow River in the upper reaches of the Ord River system above Lake Argyle ( Vari 1978) and from specimens captured by Allen and Allen (1998) in the Durack River ( Fig. 34). Allen et al. (2002) also reported it from the Pentecost River.
