1. Dohrniphora papuana (Brues) View in CoL
( Figs 12 View FIGURES 9 – 16 , 72 View FIGURES 69 – 73 )
Phora papuana Brues, 1905: 541 View in CoL (♂♀).
Dohrniphora papuana ( Brues) Brues, 1915: 96 View in CoL .
Dohrniphora monochaeta Borgmeier, 1961: 18 View in CoL . Synonymized by Disney 1990: 381. Dohrniphora schmitzi Kohl, 1914:121 View in CoL . Synonymized by Disney 2003:17.
The species was recorded in Oriental and Afrotropical Regions. As tramp species it was also found in Spain ( Disney and Blasto-Zumeta 2004). Disney (2003) found that there is an East-West cline in the number of spinules of the female hind tibia and the likelihood of an incomplete hair palisade on the fifth segment of the front tarsus. By checking Chinese specimen we found that it has no posterior dorsal hair palisade on fore tarsomere 5, which is similar to the African specimen. There may be some variation of characters.
Distribution. China (Yunnan), the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Spain.
Specimen examined. 1♂, Yunnan Province, Menglun (21°57'N, 101°15'E), 24-V-1991, Guang-Chun Liu and Yinglun Wang.
