Bryodemella (s. str.) nigrifemura , sp. nov. (Figs. c, h)
Type material. Holotype: male, CHINA: Lasa (Lhasa), Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region (29º48´N, 91º6´E), alt. 4000 m (Ren GuoDong), 30 Jun. 2002 ( MHU). GoogleMaps
Diagnosis: This new species is similar to B. (s. str.) tuberculatum ( Fabricius, 1775) . The major differences are listed in Table 2 View TABLE 2 .
Description: Male (fig. c). Body large, with thin hairs ventrally. Head distinctly shorter than pronotum. Vertex short and broad, oblique, slightly concave dorsally, with distinctly lateral margins and weak median carina; fastigium narrowed towards apex. Frons vertical in profile, frontal ridge with longitudinal sulcus, almost reaching to anterior margin of fastigium upwards, lateral carinae distinct and slightly broaden between antennae, slightly concave and constricted below median occilus, and not reaching to clypeus downwards. Antennae filiform, extending beyond posterior margin of pronotum, length of a middle segment 2.2 times width. Foveolae distinct, triangular. Eyes oval, vertical diameter 1.33 times horizontal diameter or subocular groove. Pronotum coarse, with dense strumaes and short carinae, anterior margin straight, posterior margin nearly right angular; whole length of median carina distinct, evidently elevated in prozona, clearly incised by hind sulcus, metazona 2 times longer than prozona, lateral keels of pronotum slightly displayed on metazona. Prosternum appreciably swelled. Both elytra and hindwings developed, extending almost to end of hind tibia. Intercalary vein in medial area of elytra shortened and weakened, not serrated. Hindwings slightly shorter than elytra, main longitudinal veins distinctly thickened in basal half, second anal lobe wide, 1.67 times wider than following anal lobe, 2A1 and 2A2 veins parallel. Width of interspace between mesosternal lobes 1.93 times its height (fig. i). Hind femur dumpy, length 3.38 times maximal width, upper basal lobi longer than down basal lobi, dorsal carina wholly smooth, upper keel of outer side serrated in terminal half, lower knee lobes of inner side tilted inward. Outer side of hind tibia with 9 spines, and inner side with 11 spines, outer apical spine absent. Arolium between claws not reaching to middle of claws. Tympanal organ developed, tympanic flap small, almost not covering tympanic cavity. Cerci long cylindrical. Supraanal plate triangular. Subgenital plate breviconic, apex blunt.
Coloration: Male. General coloration brown. Basal quarter of elytra darkish, other part scattered some dark spots. Base of hindwings rose red except darker preanal area, fascia narrow and dark discontinuously from anterior to posterior margins. Hind femora with a wide yellow ring near knees, inner and lower side black (fig. h), upper and outer side with three darker fascia indistinctly in outer side. Hind tibia yellow, not dark in apex. Tarsus yellow.
Female. Unknown.
Measurement: Length of body: male 29.9 mm; Length of pronotum: male 8.7 mm; Length of elytra: male 32.6 mm; Length of hind femora: male 16.0 mm.
Etymology: “ Nigri ” in Latin means black; “femura” means hind femur; “ nigrifemura ” alludes to hind femora dark in both inner and lower sides of this species.
