Subgenus Cacoplistes s. str.
Type species: Cachoplistus brunnerianus Saussure, 1877
As per literature, the nominotypic subgenus reportedly comprises three species including: Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) brunneranius Saussure, 1877 , Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) indicus (Chopard, 1935) , and Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) proximus Gorochov, 2003 . The type species was described on the basis of a single female being quite similar to the other two species. The morphological variations and differences in genitalic structure between the species Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) indicus and Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) proximus and likewise, the phenotypic plasticity notable with Cacoplistes (Cacoplistes) brunneranius have been described by Gorochov (2003).
