Diagnosis. Similar to Parancistrocerus Bequaert , distinguished by absence of an acarinarium on T2. Mandibles longer than length of clypeus. Clyepus as long as wide, emarginate apically. Cephalic foveae present. Anterior surface of pronotum usually with pair of median foveae (sometimes contiguous). Pronotal carina usually complete, sometimes interrupted medially. Tegula longer than wide, emarginate and reaches apex of parategula posteriorly. Mid tibia with one apical spur. SMC2 basally acute. Prestigma shorter than pterostigma. T1 not petiolate, usually distinctly narrower than T2; generally without basal transverse carina. Ƌ: F11 hook like, apex usually reaching base or middle of F9; no cavity on inner margin of flagellomeres. Body length usually less than 10 mm.

Disrtibution. Nearctic, Palearctic, Oriental and Neotropical regions.

Remarks. No specimens from south India examined, but its diagnosis is based on its inclusion in an unpublished key by one author (Carpenter, J.M.).
