3. Sabellaria sp. (Annelida, Sedentaria) and Cothurnia (Ciliophora, Sessilida)

The present is also the first report for Cothurnia sp. ciliate protozoans attached to Sabellaria sp. polychaetes. The specimens of Cothurnia sp. were only found in a single specimen of Sabellaria , attached to the chaetae of the anterior end, including paleae and hooks, ~95 individuals on that single worm, all in solitary form ( Fig. 4A–C ). Partially contracted specimens of Cothurnia sp. are 82.53 µm long, in average, in 20 individuals measured ( Fig. 4C ).
