gen. nov.

Langlibaitiao Lin & Li , gen. nov.

Type species. Lathys inaffecta Li, 2017 from China, Guizhou .

Etymology. The genus is named after Langlibaitiao , nickname for one of the 108 outlaws in the classical Chinese literature Outlaws of the Marsh; masculine in gender.

Diagnosis. Langlibaitiao Lin & Li , gen. nov. is similar to Lathys Simon, 1885 (see Marusik et al., 2009, generotype), but the male can be distinguished by the absence of a patellar apophysis, with an obvious spine, tibia with 3 obvious spines directed dorsally, ventral tibial apophysis absent, retrolateral tibial apophysis tip with a strong spine and base of conductor with a semicircular process. Females can be distinguished by the simple, slightly curved copulatory ducts.

Description. Male. Total length 2.00–3.01. Cephalic part strongly elevated, with several setae. Furrows indistinct, fovea reduced, longitudinally. Six eyes, PER procurved in dorsal view, ALE absent. All eyes encircled with black. Eyes subequal in size. Chelicerae with distinct lateral condyles. Leg formula 1423. Opisthosoma oval, with black anchor-shaped pattern, venter without distinct pattern. Cribellum narrow, undivided.

Palp. Femur almost 3 times longer than patella. Patella with dorsal spine. Tibia with 3 spines retrolaterally. Tip of retrolateral tibial apophysis with strong spine retrolaterally. Cymbium pyriform. Conductor with anterior and posterior arms, base of conductor in the centre of the bulb. Embolus filiform, originating at approximately 10:00-o’clock-position.

Female. Total length 2.0–2.5. Somatic characters as in male.

Genitalia. Copulatory openings small, round and sclerotized. Copulatory ducts short, slightly curved, touching at midline, forming an "X". Spermathecae, oval, separated.

Distribution. China (Guizhou, Guangxi, Hainan).

Notes. Because of the tibia with 3 spines retrolaterally and the X-shaped copulatory ducts, we transfer the species Lathys chishuiensis Zhang, Yang & Zhang, 2009 and Lathys inaffecta to the genus Langlibaitiao as Langlibaitiao chishuiensis (Zhang, Yang & Zhang, 2009) comb. nov. and Langlibaitiao inaffectus comb. nov.

Species included. Langlibaitiao chishuiensis comb. nov., L. inaffectus comb. nov. and L. zhangshun Lin & Li , sp. nov.
