Types. Holotype, female, China: Shaanxi Province, Foping County, 33°30.48’N, 107°58.52’E. September 5, 2004, from Artemisia argyri Lévl. & Vant. (Compositae) , coll. Xue, Xiao-Feng & Song, Zi-Wei. Paratypes, 9 females and 1 male, with the same data as holotype.

Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.

Etymology. The specific designation argyris is from the specific epithet of type host plant, argyri .

Remarks. This species is similar to Epitrimerus englerus Huang, 2001 b, but can be differentiated by the absence of the median line (median line present in E. englerus ), setae h1 present (setae h1 absent in E. englerus ), female genital coverflap with 8 ridges (female genital coverflap smooth in E. englerus ).
