Diagnosis. P. maritima is characterised by the female subgenital plate that is angularly divided from base; the lobes are on proximal surface only very shallowly grooved towards lateral apex; the apex of the lobes is obliquely truncate with the internal margin strongly concave ( Figs. 454, 497). Differences to other species are outlined in the key.

Face rugose but shining. Tegmen surpassing apices of hind femora; gradually narrowed behind basal widening. Femora with the following number of spines on ventral margins: fore femur 7–8 external, 6 internal; mid femur 6 external, 3 internal near base; hind femur 10 external, 7 minute internal near base.
Male unknown.
Female. Tenth abdominal tergite furrowed in midline. Subgenital plate divided in midline by a triangular membranous area; apex of both sclerites together broad roundly excised; resulting lateral plates globular; with weak transverse basal furrow; apex of each lobe obliquely truncate ( Figs. 454, 497).
Coloration. Yellowish brown. Face with black band between eyes including scapus and with black vertical band widening ventrad. Vertex infumate. Pronotal disc infumate. Tegmen with pattern of dark cells and light veinlets distinct. Fore tibia infumate in anterior area.
