Genus PARASTEROPE Poulsen, 1965 View in CoL
Type-species. Asterope muelleri Skogsberg, 1920 .
Composition. Genus Parasterope includes 43 species of which the following are known from the study area: P. quadrata ( Brady, 1898) , P. ohlini ( Skogsberg, 1920) , P. longiseta ( Skogsberg, 1920) , P. pectinata Poulsen, 1965 , P. pseudoquadrata ( Hartmann, 1965) (in Hartmann-Schröder & Hartmann 1965) , P. styx Kornicker, 1975 , P. crinita Kornicker, 1975 , P. prolixa Kornicker, 1975 , P. micrommata Kornicker, 1975 , P. anommata Kornicker, 1975 , P. aff. longiseta (in Hartmann 1987) , P. sequax Kornicker, 1996 (in Kornicker & Poore 1996) , P. lux Kornicker, 1996 (in Kornicker & Poore 1996) , P. p hy s i nx Kornicker, 1996 (in Kornicker & Poore 1996), P. whatleyi Kornicker, 1996 (in Kornicker & Poore 1996) .
Distribution. Members of this genus live between 55°N and 65°S from intertidal depths to 4303 m ( Kornicker & Poore 1996).
