Tetraopes femoratus LeConte, 1847 ; Tetraopini [new state record]

Distribution: Southern ON and OH to south TX to CA to southern BC, with records extending to Durango, MX. Most Kentucky specimens were collected in the north-central part of the state (mostly Interior Plateau ; Map 188).

Larval host plants: Asclepias speciosa ( Farrell & Mitter 1998) , A. syriaca ( Gosling 1984) plus five additional species of Asclepias and Asclepiodora viridis ( Monné & Nearns 2022d)

Comments: Species in the genus Tetraopes are all found closely associated with their host plants. Adults can be numerous on their hosts during the day where they feed on the leaves and flowers.
