Syntypes. Two, The Natural History Museum, London (BMNH) 1946.1.6.3132, collected by Doorman. Downs (1967: 164) designated BMNH 1946.1.6.31, a male, the lectotype. Typelocality. City of Mexico, Mexico.

Distribution. From the type locality and Michoacan, Mexico, 18002000 m elevation. Species group. sieboldi ( Downs 1967) .
