Geophis maculiferus Taylor 1941: 119 .
Holotype. University of Illinois Museum of Natural History ( UIMNH) 25078, a juvenile male collected 14 August 1940 by E.H. Taylor.
Typelocality. On a road near Cício (= Tzitzio fide Duellman, 1961: 97), ca 1630 m elevation, 17 km south of the MexicoGuadalajara highway, Michoacán, México.
Distribution. Known only from the type locality in the Cordillera Volcanica, Michoacán, México.
Species group. omiltemanus ( Downs 1967) .
