Monopeltis cf. anchietae ( Bocage, 1873) View in CoL
Anchieta's Spade-snouted Worm Lizard ( Fig. 13 View Fig ) Material: One photographic record of a freshly killed individual (L. Gata, CF).
Comment: Monopeltis anchietae is recorded from southwestern Angola ( Marques et al. 2018), and Branch et al. (2019b) discuss its taxonomical history. The coloration pattern of the specimen ( Fig. 13 View Fig ) conforms to the most common pattern associated with M. anchietae ( Broadley et al. 1976) , but the photograph resolution does not allow for the detailed scale counts necessary to provide a positive identification. The species was recorded in Humbe ( Bocage 1873), approximately 110 km south of BNP, and the Carmira Farm specimen is provisionally assigned to M. anchietae , pending the collection of additional material for confirmation.
