TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, W Java, Mt. Salak (restricted by Sody, 1949b) .

DISTRIBUTION: Java ( Indonesia).

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.

SYNONYMS: cinerea , javanicus , leucisca , pongoalsoni.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Hylobates .
